The Challenge:OMEGA asked us to find an Operations Manager to be a key member and contributor to the EMEA leadership team, helping to coach and mentor existing and new members and staff as required and provide leadership to achieve world class delivery performance in these regions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee would be required to meet and tour facilities and would need to be open to occasional domestic and international travel. A key outcome of the role was to develop and provide strong linkage between operational functions in the US and EMEA.
Our Candidate:The successful individual would essentially be responsible for all manufacturing, technical and logistical performance across the region.
They had to possess a strong ability to focus, prioritise and multi-task across subject areas and display strong planning and operational leadership.
OMEGA emphasised there was a key focus on cost management and quality with their opportunity so any interested candidate needed a proven track record in this area. Languages would be beneficial but not necessary. It was more important that the candidate could communicate effectively across the EMEA region, taking in to account cultural nuances.
Our Solution:An experienced senior leader who’d set strategic direction and provided tactical solutions in their role at the time.
They were supporting their business by using and applying Lean and Six Sigma Tools to drive sustainable and continuous site wide productivity improvement, resulting in tangible financial results that enhanced the company’s operational processes.
