A fantastic Senior Legal Partner opportunity has arisen due to the expansion of our client into a number of new areas of law, including property (conveyancing), and probate (wills).

About the company

From humble beginnings back in the 1960’s, our client has grown to become a leading national legal provider across a number of areas. Starting off with a criminal division which continues to this day, they have since expanded significantly into a number of civil areas of law.

They are now looking to increase this expansion by creating a dedicated Property & Probate division and are seeking a Senior Partner to lead this. Our client has undertaken some work in these areas in the past but are now keen to have a dedicated team to focus on developing a significant client portfolio for this division.

About the role

You will be responsible for the P&L of the division, as well as recruiting the relevant resources required to deliver the business plan. You will be expected to undertake business development, in particular, cross-selling property and probate services into existing strategic relationships and the organisation’s existing client base.

As Senior Partner, you will have complete autonomy to run the division, and report into the Executive Director for Legal Services – Civil Law.  You will be required to provide a monthly update on progress against the business plan. You will also be expected to ensure the division breaks even within 18 months of starting the role. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering an individual new business target.


Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing a Business Development plan for growing the division from a standing start
  • Recruiting relevant personnel as required
  • Divisional P&L reporting
  • Individual (and team) new business targets

Skills & Experience: 

  • Minimum of 7 years experience of a junior legal partner role or 3 years as a senior legal partner
  • You must be a practicing solicitor with regular County Court experience
  • Self-motivating ability and ability to motivate others
  • Proven business development capability including account management of strategic relationships
  • Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills

A very competitive remuneration package is available for the right person including a significant profit share based on the divisions performance.
