As a leading UK healthcare provider, our client are looking for a Director of Estates to oversee their significant number of properties across the UK. They are also planning on a number of expansion projects across multiple sites which will require substantial management.

Salary: £80k + excellent bonus scheme

Based in the South East, our client is a leading UK healthcare provider with over 20 properties across the country. They have an ambitious expansion plan to double the footfall of customers through their sites within the next 5 years. As a result, they hope to achieve this by increasing the range of healthcare services offered, which in turn requires property extensions to nearly half of their existing locations.

About the role
As Director of Estates, you will be responsible for maintaining the extremely high standards across each of the existing properties as well as project managing the construction plans for the expanding locations. The current business strategy is to extend 3 properties per year over the next 3 years but these will ultimately overlap in years 2 and 3 in particular.
The tendering process has been agreed but no invitations have yet been sent out and this will be delayed until the new Director is in place.
There is a Facilities Manager in place at each location and 2 Regional Managers (split North and South) overseeing 10 locations each, that will support you. A significant amount of travel will be required, particular when the expansion projects are initiated, with the first 3 projects planned to be focused in the South East.
This position will sit on the Board and report in to the Operations Director.
- Management of 20 site locations, ensuring the existing high standards are maintained
- Project management of site extensions, including adherence to strict budgets and deadlines
- Leading a team of 22 people
- Attendance and reporting at monthly Board meetings, identifying any significant issues and proposing solutions
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years successfully managing multiple locations
- Excellent project management skills with proven evidence of delivering projects on time and budget
- Strong people leadership, communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to continue improvement processes
- Knowledge of the healthcare sector would be beneficial but not mandatory
